本展覧会のタイトルである“Spectrum” とは分光学で、例えば太陽光をプリズムに通したときに現れる虹の帯など、複雑な情報や信号を分解し、量や強度の順に規則的に並べる場合に用いられるのですが、広義では「変動するものの範囲」「連続体」といった意味を持ちます。

そうした過程を経て生みだされた作品が一堂に会することで、アーティストそれぞれのアプローチが空間全体に虹のように広がり、アーティストから鑑賞者へ意識を反映・共有し、アーティストから鑑賞者へと意識を連続させることで、アートが社会的文脈でつながることを期待します。

本展覧会では、弊画廊選抜による16名の多種多様な表現の作品により、現代の時代性と美術表現を展観し、次世代の方向性と可能性を探りたいと思います。

The title of current exhibition is “Spectrum”, it is a term in spectroscopy, the condition in which complex information and signals are decomposed, for example, as rainbow bands that appear when sunlight passes through a prism, and arranges them regularly in order of quantity and intensity. This meaning is used in some cases, but in a broad sense, it has the meaning of “range of variable” and “continuum”.

Contemporary art uses various expression methods to understand the problems of modern society and the inner world of people living in the modern society and it is seen and expressed from various perspectives. It also predicts an important familiar future and conveys hope. It is necessary for each artist to understand the importance of delivering the art, while having a flexible point of view and to understand that each artist is playing an important role in delivering a message to the outside world that we have to change.

We hope that by bringing together the works created through this process, each artist’s approach spreads like a rainbow throughout the space, reflecting and sharing the consciousness from the artist to the viewer, it will create a link and connect the art in social context.

In this exhibition, I would like to show the contemporary era and artistic expression by exploring 13 different artists (planned) selected by our gallery and to explore the future directions and possibilities. In addition, I hope that this exhibition will help in exchange between artists, or between artists and visitors.
