”Prologue-プロローグ”展は、若手作家の発掘・育成を目的とする日本でも有数の権威ある公募展「Idemitsu Art Award」展（旧シェル美術賞）の入選作家から、弊画廊が選抜した作家により構成された選抜展となります。
”Prologue-プロローグ”展は、今年で16回目の開催となります。今年は昨年開催された「Idemitsu Art Award 2024」展の入選作家のみならず、よりオープンな展覧会を目指し「Idemitsu Art Award 2024」展の入選作家以外の作家もメンバーに迎え紹介します。

本展のタイトル”Prologue-プロローグ”には序章、序詞、序幕という意味があります。メディア表現が多様化している今日、新進気鋭のアーティストたちが見据えるその先には一体どのような世界が待っているのか。将来の日本のアートシーンでの活躍が期待される作家を紹介することで、次世代の日本の現代アートの方向性を展観します。


The “Prologue” exhibition is a curated showcase featuring artists selected by our gallery from among the finalists of the prestigious Idemitsu Art Award (formerly the Shell Art Award), one of Japan’s leading open-call exhibitions dedicated to discovering and nurturing emerging artists.
Now in its 16th edition, “Prologue 2025” presents not only artists who were finalists in the Idemitsu Art Award 2024, but also includes creators from outside the award’s selection, aiming to offer a more open and inclusive exhibition.
The title “Prologue” signifies a prelude, an introduction, or an opening chapter. In today’s era of increasingly diverse media expressions, what kind of world lies ahead in the eyes of these up-and-coming artists? By introducing artists expected to play active roles in Japan’s future art scene, this exhibition offers a glimpse into the evolving direction of contemporary Japanese art.
