空間と時間、風景について考えながら絵画を制作しています。
線と色彩で層をつくり、その重なりから生まれる絵画空間と現実の風景を重ね、
空気や時間の流れ、手前と奥行きを感じ取れるような表現、作品を目指しています。
近年の作品では、自分の見ている景色の範囲や目線、目の動きに意識を向け、
焦点の合うところと合わないところを画面の中につくることで
瞬間的に感じた印象、風や温度、空気感をより捉えることができないか試行しています。

言葉や文法が人の視覚をはじめとした様々な認識に無意識に与える影響についてフォーカスしながら作品制作を行なっています。
人の目は、基本的に輪郭のあるものを物体と捉えて認識し、どんなにあやふやなもの、例えば雲のように実際には捉え所のない形をしたものであっても、なんとか形を捉えようとしながら見ています。それが私たちの目の持つ癖であり、認識の癖でもあります。そして、そういった輪郭探しの能力が表出した一部分に、言葉の存在があります。言葉を当てはめる行為とは、物事を分類し、定義し、枠に収める行為です。私たちは言葉を学習してから死ぬまで、もはや言葉を介さずに物事を考えることはできません。つまり輪郭作りや線引きをせずに物事を考えることができないのです。では一方で、人は万物に適切な言葉を当てはめることができているでしょうか、あるいは全ての事柄を定義し尽くすことはできているでしょうか。そう考えると、言葉が私たちに見せている景色は、まだまだ欠損だらけのように感じます。または、間違った風景が見えている可能性もあります。
かつてサイトゥオンブリーという作家が、言葉を作品の中に取り入れることで、古代ギリシャローマの詩人へのオマージュを表現し、同時に今は見ることのできない過去の景色を、言葉を通じて鑑賞者の頭の中に映し出すという試みを行っていました。しかし考えてみれば、私たちは過去は愚か、今この瞬間に目の前に広がる景色すらも、輪郭線しか追うことができず、最終的にはその中でも自分の言葉で理解できるものしかきちんと認識できなかったりします。つまり、目の前の景色すらも、言葉による説明で十分鑑賞可能であるし、逆にある意味では私たちの視覚は言葉によって誘導され補完されている部分が多くあるとも言えると思います。
また同時に、言葉自身も時間をかけて洗練され、鍛えられ、成長していき、新たな概念として新しい輪郭線を描くことがあります。言葉の洗練が、私たちに新たなビジョン・風景を見せることもあるのです。
人間の見る風景が言葉とともに今この瞬間も変化しているということを、視覚芸術というジャンルを通して表現し、それと同時に、私たちの見ている現実の歪さや、未だ景色とすら認識できていないあやふやなものの存在を探し出し、浮かび上がらせることのできる作品づくりを目指しています。

I create my work with a focus on the unconscious influence of language and grammar on our perception of various things, including our sense of sight.
The human eyes basically perceive objects that have outlines, and no matter how vague the object may be, such as a cloud, or how elusive its shape may actually be, we see it while trying to grasp its form. This is a habit of our eyes, a habit of perception. And one of the manifestations of this ability to search for contours is the presence of words. The act of applying words is the act of categorizing, defining, and framing things. From the time we learn words until the time we die, we can no longer think without words. In other words, we cannot think without making contours and drawing lines. Then, are we able to apply the right words to everything, or are we able to fully define everything? It seems to me that the landscape that words present to us is still full of deficiencies. Or, it is possible that we are seeing the wrong landscape.
The artist Cy Twombly once paid homage to ancient Greek and Roman poets by incorporating words into his works, and at the same time, he attempted to project in the viewer's mind through words a view of the past that cannot be seen today. However, I think it’s not only the story of the past. When we think about the landscape seeing now, we can notice that we only follow the outlines of the objects, and in the end, we acknowledge and remember those landscape with your words. It means we can fully appreciate the scenery in front of us with verbal descriptions, and in a sense, our vision is guided and supplemented by words in many areas.
Meanwhile, words themselves are refined and developed over time, and they can draw new contours as new concepts. The refinement of language can also reveal new visions and landscapes to us.
Through the genre of visual art, I aim to express the fact that the landscapes we see are changing along with words at this moment, and at the same time, to create works that search for and bring to light the distortion of reality we see and the existence of vague things that we do not even recognize as landscapes yet.

私は、芸術系の大学を出ておりません。 絵は独学で学んでおります。 だからこそ、絵の勉強も他の人よりも更に努力しなければならないと思っていますが、だからこそ自由に、 「私の頭の中の世界」を表現することが出来るのではないかとも思っております。
未だ見たこともないこと。 聞いたこともないこと、触れたこともないことを、知りたい収したい表現したいと思う欲こそが、私の創作活動の源となっています。
