丸山成未は、”在ることとは”、”目にみえるものは本当に存在するのか”をテーマに描き続けています。 在ること、生と死、自然と人間の共存…これらのテーマをもとにモチーフの中に自身を写し、自身と対話し作品を制作しています。存在するとすれば…在ることの尊さを描いています。 コロナウイルス感染拡大により、感染対策としてアクリル板が用いられたことをきっかけに、『違和感を日常のものに変える作品を制作したい』と透明のアクリル板を用いた制作を始め、現在に至ります。 日本画の様な色感。アクリル板の”抜き”をつくることで、飾る時間や空間によって変化し、作品は表情を変えます。

Narumi Maruyama continues to paint with themes such as “what it means to exist” and “do things visible to the eye truly exist?” Through motifs based on existence, life and death, and the coexistence of nature and humanity, she reflects herself within her subjects, engaging in a dialogue with herself as she creates. If existence does indeed persist… she seeks to depict the preciousness of simply being. The spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the use of acrylic panels as a preventive measure, inspired her to begin working with transparent acrylic panels, motivated by the desire to “turn discomfort into something familiar in daily life.” Her works possess a color sensibility reminiscent of traditional Japanese painting. By creating “cut-outs” in the acrylic panels, the pieces change their expression depending on the time and space in which they are displayed.
