清水嘉奈子は、光や空気などを自身の感覚で捉え、抽象的に表現する作家です。
木洩れ日が地面を照らし、はしゃぐように揺れた時や、雨が上がって光が訪れる時、春の訪れを予感する時など、人々は自身の内面世界を照らし合わせてそれぞれの光を表現します。
光を体験すること、それは作家の願いであり、作家自身の希望の光となっています。また、人々を照らす光は、己の心をも照らす光となり、またその逆もあると考え、光を照らし会うこと、それはコミニュケーションの基本であり、そうありたいと願う願望です。
光という普遍的な主題に対して、清水は本質を問い続け、ごくありふれた日常に存在する光をつかまえ、一瞬、一瞬を切り取るようにキャンバスに描きとめます。

Kanako Shimizu is an artist who captures light and air with her own senses and expresses them abstractly.
When the sunlight the trees through shines on the ground, it fluctuates, when it has stopped raining and the light comes, and when you feel the spring is coming, there are different kinds of light that can express the light which illuminates the people`s inner world.
To experience the light is the artist’s wish and the artist’s own hope. In addition, the light that illuminates people is also the light that illuminates one’s own heart and vice versa, and it is the basis of communication and the desire that we want to be.
Shimizu keeps asking the essence of the universal theme of light, seizing the light that exists in everyday life, and drawing it on the canvas to cut out the moments.
