四季の中でもとりわけ特別な想いやイメージを呼び起こされるのが夏ではないでしょうか。夏は動植物の活動が最も盛んな時期でもあり、海や草原といった大自然をイメージさせたり、また、ひまわりや金魚といった特定の動植物をイメージさせたり、また、お盆のような神聖なイメージを想起させたりとそこから呼び起こされるイメージは、様々です。 また、夏は明るい日差しの中で色を際立たせ、その光や彩りにより非日常的な風景を現出させます。 本展では、この夏から想起される光や彩りのイメージを”夏模様”と称し、実力派アーティストの作品を紹介します。一人一人のアーティストが持つ記憶のなかの風景、それぞれの多種多様な表現スタイル、個人の内面で紡ぎだされる記憶やイメージが夏を彩り、様々な物語を想起させることでしょう。

It is the summer that evokes special feelings and images among the four seasons. Summer is also the period when flora and fauna are most active, and it makes you imagine the great nature such as the sea and grasslands, or images of specific flora and fauna such as sunflowers and goldfish, and reminds you of a sacred image like Obon holiday. There are various images that are evoked from it. Also, in the summer, the colors stand out in bright sunlight, and the light and color bring out an extraordinary landscape. In this exhibition entitled “summer patterns” as the images of light and color recalled from summer, artworks by talented artists are introduced. The scenery in the memories, the various expression styles and the memories and images spun out within teach artist will color the summer and evoke various stories.
