”ハーモニー – harmony ”とは、ギリシア語の” ハルモニア harmonia ”を語源とします。 ”ハーモニー” つまり「調和」の広義の意味は、独立した諸要素が総合的かつ部分的に均衡が取れている状態のことですが、「調和」は芸術分野においても最も重要な要素であり、作品を芸術たらしめる所以であるといっても過言ではありません。 「調和」している状態とは、各要素がぶつかることなく互いを引き立て合い、各要素が持つ美しさや個性を保ちながら繋がり統合されている状態で、たとえ対極にあるような要素同士でもそれらが調和することにより新たな美が誕生します。 現代は、未だ、戦争や紛争、争いが絶えず、また、世界は今パンデミックの拡大により混迷と混乱を極めています。このような混沌の世界に調和の美しさと希望を垣間見せるのもアートの役割かもしれません。 ” ハルモニア I – harmonia ”展ではアートにおける「調和と美」をテーマとし、色や筆致、素材や構図、そしてアーティストの魂が織りなす「調和した美」を展観すると同時に、本展を通して「調和」を捉え直し、アートの現代社会における役割と可能性について考察します。 ” ハルモニア I – harmonia ”は、弊画廊の中央スペースで開催いたしますが、弊画廊サブスペースのGALLERY ART POINT.bisで開催される” ハルモニア II – harmonia ”との同時開催となります。 また、弊画廊の試みとして、ギャラリーにて実際の作品を観賞する方法とオンラインにて作品を観賞する方法、ハイブリッドな形式で展示を開催いたします。

”Harmony” is derived from the Greek word “harmonia”. The broad meaning of the word “harmony” is a state in which independent elements are in total and partial balance. Harmony is one of the most important elements in the field of art, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is what makes a work of art. Harmony is a state in which the elements complement each other without clashing, and are connected and integrated while maintaining the beauty and individuality of each element. Even if two elements seem to be opposites, when they are harmonized, a new beauty is born. Today, there are still wars and conflicts, and the world is in turmoil and confusion due to the spread of pandemics. Perhaps it is the role of art to offer a glimpse of the beauty and hope of harmony in such a world of chaos. The exhibition “Harmonia I” is based on the theme of “harmony and beauty” in art. The exhibition will showcase the “harmonious beauty” of color, brushwork, materials, composition, and the artist’s soul, and at the same time, we will rethink “harmony” and consider the role and potential of art in contemporary society. “Harmonia I” will be held in the central space of our gallery, concurrently with “Harmonia II” at GALLERY ART POINT.bis, our subspace. In addition, as an experiment, we will hold the exhibition in a hybrid format, where you can view the works both in person at the gallery and online.
