略歴

狗島はデジタルフォトモンタージュ（コラージュ）という技法を用いて記憶の在り処をテーマに作品を制作している作家だ。
モンタージュ（コラージュ）には、自身が描いたドローイング作品や、身近な風景や物の写真を使用している。質感はもちろん時間や空間が異なる、言わば異質な物を平面として新たに構築していく事で記憶の在り処を探っている。
今回の展示で狗島がテーマとするのは「時間」だ。
時計の針を眺めていると時間は平等に流れているように錯覚するが、実際はそうではなく人によって流れる時間は異なっている。また決して止まる事はない。人によって遅くなったり、早くなったりなど、流れる速度は変わるが決して止まる事はなく進み続けているという考えを作家は持っている。そんな中で、ある日、自身の時間が止まっているように感じ、この考えに矛盾が生じた事をきっかけに今回のテーマとして着想を得ている。
人が、自身もしくは第三者の時間を「変わらない」「止まっている」と判断をするのであれば、それはその人自身の過去の記憶が認識を歪めているからであろうと考えた作家は、この進んでいるはずの時間の中で「ない」と判断された物はどこにあるのかと疑問を持った。そんな「ない」を探し求め表現した作品を本展では展示する。


Inushima uses the technique of digital photo montage (collage) to create artworks on the theme of where memory resides.
For montage (collage), she uses her own drawings and photographs of familiar landscapes and objects. The artist explores the location of memory by constructing new flat surfaces from different textures, time, and space.
Inushima's theme for this exhibition is "time."
When you look at the hands of a clock, you have the illusion that time is passing evenly, but in reality, time passes differently for different people.It also never stops.The artist thinks that the speed of the flow changes, slowing down or speeding up depending on the person, but that it never stops and keeps going.One day, she felt as if her own time had come to a standstill, and this contradiction in her thinking inspired the theme of this exhibition.
The artist, who believes that if a person judges his or her own or a third person's time to be “unchanged” or “standing still,” it is probably because the person's own past memories have distorted his or her perception, wondered where the thing judged to be “absent” was in this supposedly advancing time.This exhibition will feature works that search for and express such “absence”.
