小山内龍陣は、日常的に見える当たり前の風景を自然の中の超常性を捉えて描きます。
一見現実離れしたこれらの絵の中のキャラクターや風景たちは、私たちが日々の中「当たり前」として見落としてきている風景の中の神秘性であり、感動でもあります。
また、小山内は、青森出身であり、幼少期から成人までを青森で過ごしたことが小山内の絵画表現に多大な影響を与えています。青森の古代遺跡や棟方志功の造形、ねぶた祭りの色彩や音楽、青森の多彩な自然の影響が作中随所にみられ、作中頻繁に登場する音楽的表現と「縦笛」や、キャラクターもそれら影響によるものといえます。
小山内の具体的な表現方法として、粘土を下地にして、その上に砂を混ぜた絵の具やペンキなどを塗りながら、厚みをもたせ、その上を彫ることにより造形を作ります。
そうした小山内独自の表現手法により二層による多彩な表現ができ、また、作者が作中で求める「実在的な生々しさ」それは、現実的という意味ではなく現実の本質の部分を浮き彫りにするという意味での実在性を表現します。
小山内の絵画表現は、日常の中の景色で、普段私達が何気なく見落としている何かを気づかせ、ふとした緑や景色の中に潜む神秘性を感じさせる魅力があります。
本展では、小山内の新作12点をご紹介しますが、その強烈な世界観はきっと僅かな変化を私達にもたらすものと期待します。

Ryuji Osanai is an artist who captures and describes the paranormality in nature that you can see natural scenery in daily life.
The characters and the landscape in these seemingly unrealistic pictures are the mystery and the impression in the landscape that we have overlooked as “natural” in our daily life.
In addition, Osanai, who is from Aomori Prefecture, the northernmost part of Honshu, had spent most of time from childhood to adults in Aomori. This experience of growing up in Aomori has a great influence on the expression of the passage of Osanai. The ancient ruins of Aomori and Shiko Munakata, well known painter also from Aomori, his art form, and the colour and music of Nebuta festival, and the diverse nature of Aomori are seen everywhere in his artworks, and the musical expressions and “TATEBUE (vertical flute)” that appear frequently in his work and characters can also be said to be those influences.
As a concrete way of his expression, clay is used as a base, and paints mixed with sand are applied on it, giving thickness, and making figure by carving on it. Such his unique expression method allows him to express various expressions in two layers, and also the “real liveliness” that Osanai seeks in his artworks, which means not to be realistic but to emphasize the essence of reality.
Osanai’s pictorial expression is a scene in everyday life, and has an attraction that makes you notice something that we usually overlook casually, and makes you feel the mystery behind the lush greenery and scenery.
In this exhibition, I will introduce eight new works in Osanai, and I expect that the intense worldview will surely bring us a slight change.
