林不一は一貫して女性画を描き続けており、そのテーマや時代など様々で統一感の無いように見えるが、全てに通底しているのは、その女性に向ける「眼差し」であり生と死を孕んだ一瞬の美、そこから生まれ出る感情を描き留め表現する。 眼差しの先にある一瞬の美とは、「愛」「死」「郷愁」「幸福」「人生」と様々に捉えられるが、儚く消え去る複雑な感情を抱くその心持ちを、作家林不一が向ける女性への眼差しからうかがい知ることができる。
今回の展示では、女性画の新作13点を展示します。

Fuitsu Hayashi consistently draws pictures of women, while the theme and times of her pictures seem to have no sense of unity, but what she refers to all her works is a “MANAZASHI” (gaze) towards to woman.
She expresses a momentary beauty with life and death, and emotions emerging from “MANAZASHI” (gaze) towards to woman.
The momentary beauty that lies ahead of “MANAZASHI” (gaze) can be interpreted variously as “love” “death” “nostalgia” “happiness” “life”. Fuitsu Hayashi aims at expressing the momentary beauty emerging from fleeting complex emotions with her own viewpoints and sensibility.
In this exhibition, her 13 new works of women’s paintings are to be exhibited and introduced.
