新型コロナウイルス（以下COVID-19と表記）の世界的感染拡大は、私たちの生活、経済、文化全てにおいて大きく変化をもたらしました。アートの世界も同様であり、展覧会やアートフェアの中止や延期に替わり、オンラインや仮想現実を新しいプラットフォームとして発表の場として用いるような手段も模索されています。
COVID-19と共存する社会の中で私達は今、アートの役割、使命（Mission)とは、何なのかということについて改めて考え直す必要があるのかもしれません。ひとりひとりのアーティストが柔軟な視点をもって、アートを通して伝達することの重要性や関係性を見つめ直し、作品を通じメッセージを外部に送りだすことの重要性が今問われているのかもしれません。
本展はアートポイント選抜によるアーティスト達の自由で多種多様な表現作品を通じCOVID-19と共存する社会の中におけるアートの役割と使命（Mission)について考察したいと考えております。また、本展を通じ、作家様同士の交流、または、作家様と一般来場者が交流することにより制作活動の一助となることを願っています。“Mission I 2022”は、弊画廊の中央スペースで開催いたしますが、弊画廊サブスペースのGALLERY ART POINT.bisで開催される”Mission Ⅱ 2022”との同時開催となります。


The global spread of the COVID-19 has drastically changed our lives, economy and culture.Instead of canceling or postponing exhibitions and art fairs, people are looking for ways to use online and virtual reality as a new platform to present their work.
In a society that coexists with COVID-19, we may need to reconsider what the role and mission of art is. With a flexible perspective, each artist should take a fresh look at the importance of communicating through art and the relationship between them, and the importance of transmitting messages to the outside world through their work may be challenged now.
In this exhibition, we would like to consider the role and mission of art in the society coexisting with COVID-19 through the free and diverse works of artists selected by ART POINT. We also hope that this exhibition will help the artists to communicate with each other and with the visitors to the exhibition, which will contribute to their creative activities.
