MAIは上海で生まれ、主に捕食者と呼ばれる動物達ーライオン、虎、豹ーなどを色鉛筆や油彩などで描いている。 独学で得たユニークな手法による繊細な色鉛筆と筆のタッチで動物達を描く。 彼女の作品は写真と見間違える程きめ細かくリアリティーに溢れ、またそれぞれの動物達の個性と捕食者としての力強さやたくましさを見事に表現している。 今回の展示では彼女の最新作１５作品を出品し紹介します。

Born in Shanghai, MAI draws predators – lions, tigers, and leopards – in colored pencil and oil. She paints animals with an intricate touch of colored pencils and brush strokes using a unique self-taught technique. Her work is so detailed and realistic that it could be mistaken for a photograph. She successfully portrays each animal’s individuality and its strength and toughness as a predator. This exhibition will feature her latest fifteen works.
