本展覧会のタイトルである“Legato”とは音楽用語で、音と音の間に切れを感じさせず、滑らかに続けて演奏する方法のことをいうのですが、その語源はイタリア語で、紐でしっかりと結ばれた、つながれてひとつになったというように、「結ばれた」「つながれた」という意味を持っています。
現代アートというものは、様々な表現方法を駆使して、現代社会が持つ問題や現代社会に生きる人間の内面を多角的に読み解き、違った視点から表現し訴えるものであり、何より私たちにとって重要な身近な未来を予見し希望を伝えるものでもあります。
ひとりひとりのアーティストが柔軟な視点をもって、アートを通して伝達することの重要性や関係性を改めて見つめ、変わらなければいけないというメッセージを外部に送りだすのもアートの大きな役割であることを自覚する必要があるのかもしれません。そうした過程を経て生みだされた作品が一堂に会することで、アーティストによる一方的なアプローチが空間全体に広がり、アーティストから鑑賞者へと意識を反映・共有することで結びつき、アートが社会的文脈でつながっていくことを期待します。
本展では、アート・ポイント選抜によるベテラン作家16名の多種多様な表現の作品により、現在の時代性と美術表現を展観し、次世代の方向性と可能性を探りたいと思います。 また、本展を通じ、作家同士の交流、または、作家と一般来場者が交流することにより制作活動の一助となることを願っています。


The word “Legato” is a musical term that means to play smoothly and continuously, but its etymology has the meaning of “tied up” or “connected” – to be tied up tightly or to be connected and united.
In contemporary art, each artists makes full use of various expression methods to understand the problems of modern society and the inner side of human beings living in contemporary society from various perspectives, and express and appeal from different perspectives. Above all, it also predicts the immediate future and conveys hope. It is necessary for each artist to take a flexible perspective, re-examine the importance and relationships of communication through art, and realize that it is also a major role of art to send a message.
In this exhibition, the works created through such a process will be gathered together, and that the art will be connected in a social context. Through this exhibition, GALLERY ART POINT introduce 16 artists artworks of various expressions and techniques.
