本展は、”Eyes – イラストレーターの視展 “と題し既存の枠組みではなく、独自のアプローチ、技法とセンスが際立つ弊画廊が注目する3-4人の実力派イラストレーターの選抜グループ展となります。21世紀初頭から急速に発達したインターネットをはじめとする新しいメディアの普及は、様々な問題を抱えながらも従来の媒体や枠組みを転換させ、数年前までは私たちが想像もできなかった世界を創り出しています。アートの分野においても、既存の表現方法にとらわれず、より多様な手法の作品が次々と生み出され、デジタルアートやCG技術を駆使したイラストレーション、アニメやマンガなどのサブカルチャーの発達は、アートや美というジャンルそのものの境界を曖昧なものにし、日々流動的に変化しています。これまでアートの世界に関心を持たなかった人たちも、イラストやアニメという媒体によってアートを身近に感じるようになってきており、個人の内面から湧き出る感情だけでなく、社会に対する問題提起を何らかのかたちで残すとき、こうした身近な表現方法はそれを受け取る側にもストレートに入り込み、今後のアートシーンでも欠くことのできない新しい潮流となるでしょう。本展覧会では、弊画廊選抜によるイラストレーター3-4人の多種多様な表現スタイル、個人の内面で紡ぎだされる多元的なイメージや世界観を現代のアートシーンの新しい潮流として展観するとともにイラストレーションの可能性と方向性を探りたいと思います。

This exhibition, entitled “Eyes-Illustrator’s Visual Exhibition”, is a group exhibition of 3-4 talented illustrators who stand out for their unique approaches, techniques and senses that are not the existing framework that our gallery will focus on. The spread of new media, such as the Internet, which has developed rapidly since the beginning of the 21st century, has changed the traditional media and framework despite having various problems, and has created a world that we could not imagine several years ago. Even in the field of art, works using a variety of methods are created one after another, regardless of the existing methods of expression, and the development of subcultures such as illustrations, animations and manga using digital art and CG technology blurs the boundaries between the genres of art and beauty, and change fluidly daily. Until now, people who were not interested in the world of art have become having a feeling of closeness to the art through the media such as illustrations and animations, and when artists leave not only emotions that emerge from themselves but also problem presentations to society in some form, these familiar ways of expression also go straight to the recipient’s heart, and will be a new trend indispensable in the future art scene. In this exhibition, a variety of expression styles of 3-4 illustrators selected by our gallery, multi-factor images and world-views spun inside of individuals be exhibited as new trends in the contemporary art scene, and the possibility and direction of illustration will be explored.
