美しく、弱く、切なく…
白はKwon YoungJinにとっては生命の色という意味を持っている。
白は”無”だけど”無限”でもある完璧な存在であり、”アルビニズム”はその”白”を象徴的に表せる魅力的なモチーフとなり Kwon YoungJinの作品に頻繁に登場して物語を動かす原動力になっている。
一般的にいう「普通」とは違う、異質感を表現するために、Kwon YoungJinは”アルビニズム”をモチーフとして、 単純に外からみえる外観だけではなくて個々人の”違い”を作品を作る課程を通じて表現している。正反対の質感を持てる被写体達を、 一つの画面に配置して似ているけれど違う、存在の矛盾、沈黙と叫びを通じ生と死の境界、そして……その境界の間からの 強い生命力を探し続けている。
神経質なセミは、鉄の音を立てて水中に落ち、爪に刺さった赤いとげはなかなか泣き止まない。 固まってしまった小鳥は息を切らして裂けた傷の間からまた花は咲くかな…

Beautiful, vulnerable and sad…
White is the color of life for Kwon. White is nothing, but it’s also infinite. It is a perfect being.
“Albinism” has become an attractive motif that symbolizes its “white”and has become the driving force behind the story by appearing frequently in Kwon’s works.”
Kwon uses “albinism” as a motif in her work, expressing the “difference”of individual thoughts not simply in it’s appearance. By placing conflicting subjects on one screen, the artist finds strong vitality that comes from the contradictions of similar but yet different beings, the beginning and end, and the boundary between life and death.
