Masaya Iwasakiは、1965年生まれ。写真家の活動を経て、40歳の時に独学で絵を描き始めました。Web上での作品発表をきっかけに近年は、海外展示の企画にも参加しています。今回は初の個展になります。
自身が影響を受けたという13世紀頃の宗教画に、東洋のテイストを加えた独自の様式の中で、現代の市井の人々を、やや粗目のタッチで祝祭的に描き出していきます。独自なスタイルの中にポップカルチャーとアニミズムが同居した不思議な世界観をみることができます。本展では、アクリル、キャンバスF40号～F10号、8点の展示となります。

Masaya Iwasaki was born in 1965. After working as a photographer, He began to draw by himself at the age of 40. In recent years, He has actively participated in overseas exhibitions. This is his first solo exhibition.
In a unique style he adds oriental taste to the 13th century religious paintings that he was influenced by. he draw out the people of the modern city with a slightly rough touch in a festive manner. Through his unique style paintings, we will see the mysterious worldview where pop culture and animism coexist. In this exhibition, his 8 artworks with Acrylic on canvas is introduced.
